OHSAA Tournament Info

Every year, association membership conducts voting which leads to additional points being added to individual ratings for the tournament selection process. The results below are from voting during the 2025 season. The officials noted below will receive the following point values added onto their tournament selection rating for the 2026 season:

The following is from the OHSAA Handbook regarding Tournament Officials Requirements:

4.2 Tournament Officials Requirements
4.21 Tournament level to which applicable - Regional, State.
4.22 Minimum Requirements
    4.221 Must have been an OHSAA Class 1 football official in good standing the previous year. Must be a Class 1 official during the current sports year.
    4.222 Must officiate during the current football season a minimum of 8 varsity high school games at the position for which applying. To "count" the game must be officiated by a crew of 5.
    4.223 Must have officiated a a minimum of 8 high school varsity football games during the previous Ohio season.
    4.224 Must attend or go online for 1 OHSAA State Football Rules interpretation meeting.
    4.225 Must attend a minimum of 4 local rules discussion meetings.
    4.226 Must complete an application certifying the above requirements and return the completed application to the OHSAA.
    4.227 An official is ineligible to work a Championship Football game in successive years.
    4.228 Must be physically fit; possess an athletic appearance; and be able to read/react and flow with the play.
    4.229 Must use all OHSAA Approved Standards for FB Officiating Mechanics.
